The Bidouze Valley, also known as the Pays d’Oztibarre consists of three main municipalities: Ostabat-Asme, Saint-Just-Ibarre and Larceveau-Arros-Cibits.
To the south of the valley is the Pays de Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port and to the north the Pays de Mixe and Saint-Palais.

The River Bidouze runs through the valley of the same name. Its source is found at the foot of the Arbailles massif, near the village of Saint-Just-Ibarre. The Bidouze winds north for about 80 kilometres before flowing into the River Adour.
Oztibarre chapels
The Bidouze region is home to many chapels. In the Azkonbegi quarter of Lantabat, you can visit Azkonbegi chapel, dedicated to St. Cyprian. The walk to the chapel passes through the Col des Palombières where traditional net hunting takes place every autumn. In Orsanco you will find Soyarce chapel, dedicated to the Virgin Mary. Near the chapel, the orientation table will enable you to identify the different Pyrenean peaks visible in the distance.
Apple country
In the village of Saint-Just-Ibarre there is a farmer’s cooperative that produces Basque cider and apple juice. Eztigar was created thanks to the initiative of many farmers to revive and perpetuate the tradition of apple-growing in the Basque Country. The apple cultivars chosen to produce the cider and apple juice are local and are sometimes very ancient varieties
