Hiking boots are an essential part of your travel bag when you come to spend a few days in the Basque Country. Here the mountains are everywhere and the paths are numerous.
The advantage of the mountains of the Basque Country is that you can either go for a walk with the children and have a picnic with a nice view or go for a full day walk with more or less difference in altitude. There is something for everyone! And your shoes won't stay at the bottom of your bag!
Some trails are essential, such as the Rhune trail to access the mythical summit of the Basque coast, the Mondarrain, the Holzarte footbridge, the Iparla ridges... In the height of the summer season, our advice is to choose less frequented trails so that you can be in the middle of nature.
