Numerous books and authors comment on the fabulous story of Perkain, a pilotari from Les Aldudes. But beyond this mythical figure, this documentary goes to meet the witnesses, the archives, the village squares and pilotasoro to realize the considerable importance of pelota in the Baigorri valley. Conceived by members of the Aldudarrak association in conjunction with specialists, this 50-minute video documentary will take us on a fabulous journey through the centuries. Topics covered include: the legend and history of Perkain, the French Revolution in the Baigorri valley, pelota playing in days gone by, the bota luze, the "pilotasoro", the Laxoa, the crowds that moved the pelota challenges, the construction of playgrounds, the valley?s pilotaris selected for the 1924 Olympic Games in Paris, and the pilotari priests.
