Exposition : Pierre Loti et l'Agonie de l'Euskal Herria

From January 18 to September 1, 2024, the exhibition Pierre Loti et L?Agonie de l?Euskal Herria (Pierre Loti and the Agony of Euskal Herria), organized to mark the centenary of Pierre Loti?s death, shows the profound changes that affected the Basque country at the beginning of the 20th century, through the stance taken by the great writer and artist in defense of the region?s landscapes and identity.
Conceived in collaboration with the association Les Amis de Pierre Loti à Hendaye et au Pays Basque and in partnership with the municipal museums of Rochefort (17), the tour features paintings, photographs and other documents from the collections of the Musée Basque, the Maison de Pierre Loti in Rochefort and private lenders.
