Spot de La Bougie

The spot la Bougie is situated in the South of the bay of Saint-Jean-de-Luz, and more exactly to Socoa, to the port of Ciboure, in the alignment of the exit of the river Untxin. The spot owes its name to the beacon which is in this place, and that the surfers called " The Candle ". The wave works only by big swell and to low tide. To have the opportunity to surf this spot, the good conditions thus have to be combined: strong swell, low tide and wind of South / southwest. This wave is very appreciated for the practice of the stand-up-paddle and the longboard.
