BASQUE-CALIFORNIA DREAMING

Angelu

Referred to as Little California because of its atmosphere, art of living and boardsports culture, Anglet (don’t forget to pronounce the “t”) is a dynamic, sport-loving, nature-filled town.

We all love Anglet

Bask-California Dream

Its preserved, sandy coastline stretching 4.5km from where the River Adour flows into the sea to the headland of Pointe du Cap St-Martin, and its 230-hectare pine forest make Anglet an ideal playground for fans of wide open spaces and contrasted landscapes. Anglet offers you a whole range of leisure and outdoor activities so you can stock up on fun experiences: swimming, thalassotherapy, surfing, skateboarding, yoga, golf, cycling, tree-top adventure park, beach volleyball, beach rugby, horseriding, Basque pelote… As for those who like walking or jogging, the coastal promenade and numerous green lanes crisscrossing nature areas are an ideal setting for doing these activities!

Holidaying in Anglet means creating unforgettable souvenirs for the whole year! Take advantage of the numerous free entertainments and events for all the family: concerts with the ocean as a backdrop, outdoor cinema, firework displays, international surfing and extreme sports competitions, outdoor contemporary art exhibitions, and more besides.

Here, each beach has its own characteristics and so everyone can find the one that best suits them! Dotted along the coastline, you will be able to find surfing schools, beach clubs, a skatepark, beach volley courts, yoga and thalassotherapy centres. Beach lifeguards monitor several beaches, to the delight of the bathers. Whether on foot, by bike, bus (free beach shuttle) or car (free parking), it’s easy to get to the beach.

…and the pine forest

Anglet’s green lung is a coastal dune forest covering almost 220 hectares. This protected area is planted with maritime pines, cork oaks, broom shrubs and mimosas. Like any forest, it plays a major ecological role, is the habitat for a rich biodiversity and also welcomes walkers, joggers, and horse riders.

Following the serious fire of July 30, 2020, new measures are in place
