Danse basque : Dantzari ttiki

Created over 30 years ago, the Dantzari ttiki brings together young dancers (7-11 years) from Basque dance schools in Labourd, Basse Navarre and Soule, every May 8th. The event is organized by the Basque dance federation ? Iparraldeko Dantzarien Biltzarra in partnership with local dance groups (Begiraleak for 2024) and the municipality (Ville de Saint Jean de Luz for 2024). The event brings together some 1,300 dancers and musicians, and a similar number of spectators (in 2023, 1,200 dancers and 100 musicians gathered in Tardets). It's an opportunity for all young dancers to share a whole day dedicated to Basque dance, not only by taking part in a major show, but also by being spectators at afternoon performances, or by dancing with their families at the end-of-day ball.
